| I've got Moxie! - by Gangis |
To recap the events of the last 25 hours: At 9:15 last night I was sitting in my computer chair, bored to death. Then a thought popped into my head: Why not go somewhere? I packed some of my clothes into a small suitcase, and laptop in tow, I went into my car. And not long after I was zooming south on State Road 417 towards... You guessed it, Melbourne. My hometown, and the area hardest hit by Hurricane Frances. I wanted to visit my parents, help my friend Rich move into a new apartment and see the damage for myself. A small mishap occurred... A few miles south of where I got onto 417, there is a junction where it splits off to State Road 408, AKA the East-West Expressway, and the other part continues south on 417. Unfortunately, due to the hurricane the sign which tells you where to go was missing. And I took the left turn. Just driving on and on, I wasn't suspecting anything until I saw the Downtown Orlando skyline rise from the horizon. "Oh shit." I thought. "I can't be on 408... Oh damn." and got off at an exit and went eastbound until I got back onto 417. Fun times. My friend Rich moved into a new apartment not far from where he used to live, called Princeton Park. It's such a gorgeous place, makes me jealous. As I helped him clean up his old apartment, I saw a can resting on a table. It was a can of Moxie, the drink that I've been looking for for months. They only sell it up north. Immediately I asked Rich about it, and he said that it was Jeff's (a friend), and I asked Jeff where he got it. He said I could have it... And I offered to pay him, but he shrugged it off. What a good friend. :O I would've easily paid five dollars for that can, considering what I've heard about it. Just now, I had some of it. It was pretty interesting, tastes like root beer and fruit. I wrapped up the can in cellophane and tape to preserve it as much as possible until I can bring it back home to give to my brother to try. I may order a few and if I can, give one to Jeff. >:) A can for a can... :D |
